DECA FLASH – FLC

DECA FLASH

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF SOME HOUSKEEPING TYPES OF DETAILS PRIOR TO FLC

Please log back in and double check all spelling as well as what tracks you have selected for students.  We have had challenges with students not going to color groups assigned which creates many problems with seating accommodations so we will try to not randomize so that they are more likely to be together.  Room sizes and assignments are based upon the numbers in each track so it is imperative that they participate in track that you select for them….please make certain that your attendees understand this.  We will have monitors at the door to make certain the students are going to their assigned room.

YOU CAN STILL ADD ATENDEES – but you are not able to change t-shirt sizes on original submissions as the order has been finalized.

Monday breakouts are all by student choice not track.

The schedule is still in the works and the program book will not be available until right before the conference.  However there was one thing that was not in the preliminary agenda and that is the evening breakout that is the leadership track continuing after the dinner break.

I will continue to send additional updates – if you have any specific questions, please ask!

When working with changes with the Hyatt, please keep in mind that they are finalizing 400 room reservations – your patience is appreciated!

Enjoy the upcoming weekend!

STATE OFFICER ELECTION PROCEDURES

Election of the 2016-2017 State Officers will be held during the Fall Leadership Conference.  Remember to review the packet closely – there will once again be an interview component on site on Sunday afternoon, November 6th.  This interview score will account for 50% of the total process in the election procedures with the ballots cast by voting delegates making up the other 50% in the election process.

Last spring we encouraged candidates to submit an “Early Intent Form” if they would like to get started early on the application process.  We have received several!  If your student submitted this form, they do not need to complete the application form again as it is basically the same form.  Just have them include the previously submitted copy with their other required materials.

DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATION

Thursday, October 5, 2016

ADDITION TO MATERIALS SUBMITTED

All candidates are to include a portrait stye photo such as graduation picture or school picture with the application materials.  It is also requested that you email an electronic file to the state office as well.

Please let me know if you have questions!

I am not really sure why removing isn’t working for some of them. What I have been telling them is to use the “direct” link, each time they have said everything works fine then.

For DECA: http://deca2016flc.mnctsoreg.org

The detailed explanation: the web browser is “caching” the page, essentially holding on to old, bad code, which causes it not to work. Using the direct link forces the browser to get fresh code, and all is well. I am also testing ways to prevent the browsers from holding on to the old, bad code.
